Hair School

I had a good day at work today.  Normally I get to leave early on Fridays, but today was really busy... so I left late.  But it was ok.  I'll take all the hours I can get.

Lance has in interview on Monday.  Wish him luck... if you want! :-)

I know every year I say this... but I really want to go to hair school.  The one I want to go to now accepts financial aid.  So I just need to apply for financial aid, however you go about doing that.........  maybe I will get more money with an unemployed husband!  I don't know how it works.  I wasn't pushed as a child to grow up and go to college.  On one hand I am thankful for that.  I didn't need that pressure growing up.  On the other hand, I feel like an uneducated loser.  Hair school won't really make me smart, but at least I'd get to learn more about stuff I am already interested in!  Hair, skin, nails and makeup.  It's stuff I deal with every day, why not make it a career?

Thank You!!

I love the rare occasions that I get to do data entry at work!  As long as it's not for the entire day......

The other day there was this super tricky entry project that we needed to do.  At first Dana (my boss) said that Mike would make an entry program that night and we could work on it the next day.  That's how "normal" entry projects go.  Well, later in the day he changed his mind.  He came out of his office with the stack of entries and told me he was going to have me do the entry in Excel.  Which is cool.  Whatever works!  Well, after explaining the trickiness and fanciness to me he said "I'm having you do this because you're the only person I trust to be able to do it right!"

Talk about major compliment!

Thank you, Dana!

Starstruck

One reason that today is a great day...

@ericmaynor3: Bored in the hotel in dallas. Question time. Ask me anything.

@Orangeice_88: @EMaynor3 anybody ever tell you that you have killer swagger?

RT @orangeice_88: @EMaynor3 anybody ever tell you that you have killer swagger?gotta have it lol

Kinda silly, I know.  But hey, it's not every day that someone in the NBA actually answers a question you ask them.  Am I right?  So yeah.  I'm totally starstruck now.  XD

I Am Happy!!

Besides laundry, this is what's been going on in our lives.... :) :)

Lance went to Vegas for a few days to look for work in that area.  He found some jobs, but none were good enough that we'd relocate for them.

He stayed at the Strat.   I wish I could have gone with him!

Lance has had quite a few interviews, but no bites yet.  Most of them have been in the Salt Lake area.  So, maybe if we're both working up north we should move that way.  We shall see.  Not as warm as Vegas, but closer to home and family is OK by me! :)

I was called to be a primary teacher in our ward and I LOVE my class!  They are very well behaved, so far.  They have such sweet personalities.  My favorite thing is singing time.  I love how a child can be throwing a tantrum one second, but when you start singing "I am a Child of God" or other primary song they immediately stop and belt it out.  My teaching companion is Christina Athlerly.  She's a teacher of 11th and 12th grade students.  She's very nice, I like her a lot!  High school teacher + former daycare worker = great success!

Eric and Kate are pregnant!  I'm so excited for them!  I'm also excited for my parents!  This will be their first grandchild.  Woot woot!

I have also realized that I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and people may not know when I am serious or I am joking and that all of my blogs sound really down and grumpy.  I'm attempting to make this one sound less down and less grumpy.  I'm not a down and grumpy person.  I am happy!

This is Embarrassing

This is our laundry.  We haven't really done more than the necessities in three months.

This is 7 piles of laundry. Jeans, sweaters/jackets, towels, whites, delicates, hang dry (yes, delicates and hang dry ARE different...) and "dryer safe".  Jeans and "dryer safe" each need to be split into three loads since they are so huge.  Sweaters/jackets and hang dry each need to be split into two loads.  Whites, towels and delicates are the only ones small enough to be just one load each.... probably because those are the only thing we've washed on a consistent basis in the past three months.  So the grand total of laundry loads is......13!

I can't go to work tomorrow.  I will be doing laundry for the rest of my life.

I Can Hope

It's the beginning of a new year!  I am unrealistically hoping that all of my problems and concerns will magically disappear with the end of 2009.

The economy... it will magically be better starting NOW!  I mean, all these companies that have just laid off tons of workers are going to start hiring again, right? Companies that have set pay freezes will lift them and give their workers DOUBLE the raise, right? Everyone will start shopping and spending money again, right? The housing market will get better and everyone's house will be worth tens of thousands of dollars more than they were worth last year right?

Don't crush my dreams, just let me be happy in my naivety.

I hope 2010 is a great year for us all.  Hopefully, the only way is up.
