Forgotten Stories

My previous blog got so long winded that I cut it short... forgetting a couple more things to add!

We got up Sunday and had breakfast at Del Taco. Pretty fancy, eh? Anyway, then we headed over to one of the many outlet malls in Vegas. This one we hadn't been to before. I liked it a lot! It had a lot of cool stores. I really liked the Ed Hardy store. I looooove Ed Hardy. Unfortunately, there wasn't really anything cute enough in the store. Sure there were cute things, but they weren't cute enough for $80-$100. Maybe next time... We left this mall empty handed! Can you believe it?! Yes? Oh ok, well I can believe it too.

This is the time when we headed home. I read most of the way (Harry Potter 6). We stopped in Beaver for lunch/dinner... and when we came back to our car, that's when we noticed it.

There was a HUGE dent, scratch and black mark on the side of our car. It looks like someone ran straight into our car. I'm incredibly angry just thinking about it. The car that was parked next to us at the DQ in Beaver was there before us, so it wasn't them. We decided it must have happend in Vegas, either at the MGM parking garage, or the Outlet Mall.

Seriously, how can someone hit your car and drive away? I am so angry! So angry that I can't think of a stronger word to describe my anger except for "angry"! So now we get to call our insurance guy and see what the damage is.

I seriously hope whoever hit our car, gets their car effed up super bad. Too bad I don't believe in Karma... they'll just go along with their life, pretending they didn't screw us over. Stupid pricks.

Another Vegas Adventure

On Thursday, the husband and I decided that we needed a break from well... the same ole, same ole, so we decided to go to Vegas. So we booked the hotel, it was Crestwood Suites. It was pretty nice and super cheap, considering the late notice.

The positives
: 1. It was around $50 a night, which is amazing considering we booked it the day before we went there, and we stayed on Friday/Saturday night, the most expensive nights of the week. 2. Its location was fantastic! It was close to all the things we wanted to do, but far enough away from the strip that it wasn't noisy all night. We totally slept with the window open without being woken up by sirens all night! 3. Full size kitchen. Not that we used it, but having a fridge was nice for our leftovers.
The negatives: 1. No pool. Poo. 2. The front desk lady made us wait 35 minutes before we could check in. Maybe this isn't a big deal to some people, but after being in the car for 6 hours, I don't really appreciate sitting on a couch watching a lady to paperwork. Customers first!!! 3. After waiting 35 minutes, the person checking us in said they only had smoking rooms left. Ew. But, this brings me to my 4th positive pont; when we went to our room, we realized that it was actually a non-smoking room. Strange? Yes. Thankful? Absolutely.

So obviously, since our late arrival Friday night (we got there around 11pm local time, midnight Utah time), we didn't do anything except go to bed.

Saturday we got up early and went to our favorite ticket selling thingy, Tix 4 2Nite. They sell half price tickets to shows in Vegas. We wanted to go to Tournament of Kings, but it was all sold out. So after thinking about different shows, we decided on Penn and Teller. So we bought our tickets, and went on with our day.

We had lunch at Rainforest Cafe. We both got bacon cheeseburgers. They were delicious! But super overpriced, please don't ask. We even got dessert! Bananas Foster... I don't really like bananas, but I do love the caramel rum sauce that they cook it in. Or in this case, they just drizzled the sauce over the top, but it was still delicious!

After filling our bellies with overpriced deliciousness, we "cruised" the strip, on foot, of course... you have to be mental to drive the strip... or just have nothing better to do... or maybe you don't know what to do in Vegas other than drive down the street with your windows down bumping crappy rap music. Ok ok... maybe you don't have a lot of time and just want a quick glance at the city. Except... that's not very quick. Anyway... where was I? Right, we were walking down the strip. Oi! I've walked the thing so many times, but it still never ceases to amaze me. We went inside M&M World, just momentarity. We didn't stay to watch the movie this time. Then we went over to Coke World and saw their cute scented t-shirts! They have shirts that are scented like different coke drinks! I bought a Vanilla Coke one. Not only because I love the stuff... but because it was super cute!
We also bought a new decoration for our "theater" room. Thanks to Tenille and Brandon we have a ticket stub and popcorn decoration, and now we have a coke sign! Hooray!

Next we went to Ethel M's Chocolate Factory. One of my favorite places to go. The chocolate is expensive, but delicious. We both got a box of 12 chocolates, and we also bought a few candybars. Oh, and we bought ourselves drinks too! Because we spent so much money, we got a free gift! It was some delicious toffee stuff. Mmmm. Good stuff. The samples this time weren't that great. It was just regular milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate. Don't get me wrong, their plain flavors are good, but it's nice to sample some unique chocolates. Oh well though, there's always next time!

After this we were feeling pretty tired, so we went back to our room. I read a couple chapters of the 6th Harry Potter book (just refreshing my memory before the movie comes out) and Lance watched TV, and then we took a nap. Crazy, right? Well, you see.... we wanted to go swimming, but the hotel didn't have a pool, like I mentioned before. So we napped for 2 hours, and got up because we wanted to get dinner before our Penn and Teller show. That's when we realized our Penn and Teller "tickets" were really vouchers, and we needed to swap them for tickets at the ticket booth an hour before the show. So we had 30 minutes to get ready and rush over to The Rio to exhange them. Oi! Luckily we made it in time, and still got pretty good seats! Instead of eating, we just went to the theater and waited for the show to start.

The show was better than I thought it would be! Penn and Teller are truly amazing! They did a trick where they turned an audience member into Teller. Seriously, I have no idea how they did it, it was freaking crazy! They also did the Magic Bullets trick, which I have seen before on TV, but it was still awesome to see in person. Basically they have audience members write their names on bullets, put the bullets into guns, and shoot them through pieces of glass at eachother, catching the bullet in their teeth, and then having the audience member confirm that it's the actual bullet they signed. Seriously baffling.

After this we went to dinner at In N Out burger. I love that place. It was really good. Yes, this means we had burgers for lunch and dinner....

We then went to Fremont Street and walked up and down, watched the laser show and made fun of the the retarded drunks before heading back to our hotel.

I intended to take more pictures of our little adventure, but alas, I am terrible with remembering to grab the camera out of the car. That, and, I hate carrying the thing. Oh, and I feel dumb taking pictures of things. I dunno... something about feeling "touristy" even though I am a tourist. It's something I need to work on, OK?!

Sammy's!!!!!

I totally feel like singing right now. Too bad nobody in the office wants to hear me. ☻

I feel like life is going by incredibly fast. The weeks go by fast, and the weekends even faster. I pay a bill, and next thing I know it's due again. Where is time going?

It's only a month until I go on my mini-vacation to Vegas with my bestie! We are so excited. I booked our hotel today. We'll be staying at Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel on Fremont Street. They have a rooftop pool that looks pretty freakin' sweet (I'll be sure to post my own pictures), as well as a steakhouse whose menu makes my mouth drool just by reading it. $50 a plate, but I bet it will be soooo worth it. Along with swimming and eating at this amazing steakhouse, we are going to Marriage Can Be Murder at the Four Queens. I think I've already mentioned it... but I'm still way excited to go! We also plan on heading over to the chocolate factory, mostly because I LOVE their chocolates, and they give you free samples. So yeah.... I have a few things that I am wanting to pick up from Coke World (decorations for my house, maybe?), and M&Ms at M&M World are the best, so we're gonna stop there too. It's gonna be a lot of fun!

I have now become "the voice of DataWise." Ok so that's totally a self-title. But seriously, when you call DataWise.. it's my voice telling you which extension belongs to whom. And now, I've been working on a charts video for our website and I narrate the thing. I think it's pretty rad. When the video is posted, y'all should check it out, 'cause I'm pretty proud of my narration-skillz.

This weekend was pretty fun. Friday, I think it was Friday... we watched The Eye with John and Chanda and their adorable baby Jayden. He's so stinkin cute! The Eye was pretty good too. It wasn't terrible. Saturday I had another ballroom practice that only 7 people showed up to. WTF is up with that? Jordan didn't want to teach us any more, because he'd just have to teach it again. But I said he should teach us anyway, so that we're better. Or so I can get some extra practice, or whatever. But oh well. Instead we went over the dance a couple times, and then gossiped about everything ballroom and non-ballroom related. And we also went to Park City... (not the ballroom peeps, but Lance and I) but they didn't have much I liked. I bought a shirt, and some food from Harry and David. Delicioso!

Oh! Last week, or the week before, I can't remember... anyway, sometime Lance and I went to this cute little restaurant called Sammy's in Provo. It's located just off of Center Street. It was so, so, so, so, so good! Lance didn't like it though, but he's a picky eater, so don't listen to him. I loved it! I definitely want to go there again. MmMmMm. I'm totally craving it right now. Mehbeh Sierra will go with me. ☺

Who I Am Hates Who I've Been

I'm trying the best I can to be a better person. I've learned all these things to keep myself positive, relaxed in uncomfortable situations, and improve my confidence... but it seems like everything else in my life doesn't want me to change. No matter what I try, I always have these opposing, negative thoughts in the back of my mind. They linger there, haunting me, waiting for me to fail. It's like I don't even have a chance.

If I've been one way all my life, is there any possible way I can change? What if I'm not meant to be a positive and happy person? What if I'm just a jealous brat, trying to pretend to be an angel who is happy for people?

I'm not saying I'm always a negative person. But with certain people and certain situations I am negative, jealous, and just downright mean. I'm trying my best to get better. But I guess my best isn't good enough. Especially when nobody notices. Especially when everything is so competition driven. Can we stop competing?! Can't we just be happy with who we are and where we are? Aren't we all here for the same reasons? Why do people always have to one-up another? If everyone else would just chill out maybe I wouldn't feel so broken right now. Why can't we all be equal?

Time Flies

This week has been quite interesting.

My work sent me, and my co-workers Betty and Laura, to a Women's Conference in Salt Lake on Thursday and Friday. It was so awesome! I learned so many helpful things for my work and personal life. I've already put to use some things with great results. I will be making Powerpoint slides at work this next week to share this useful information with the rest of the company. One thing I found extremely interesting was personality profiling. I now know how to talk to anyone in a pleasing way to them, using their personality type. It's very interesting stuff. Overall the seminar boosted my confidence in everything and gave me some useful tips and ideas.

Larry H Miller's funeral was yesterady. Lance, his dad and I went to it. The prophet, Thomas S Monson was there, as well as the first and second counselors. We also saw many Jazz players, past and present. It was very moving. Larry was a good man who did many good things for this state.

My nephews Brayden and Connor slept over last night. They are so cute! Connor just wanted to play with Abbi (my kitty) but she was not interested in that. They slept in our little loft in my scrapbooking room. They were pretty excited to sleep up there.

Spring is getting even closer! I can't wait to break out my shorts and my swim suit! Speaking of swim suit, Lance's company provided us with Orem Rec Center passes. I'm pretty excited. Now we can go swim whenever we want! I haven't been swimming in over a year, sad huh? Sierra and I are definitely going swimming when we go to Vegas next month. Less than 7 weeks until we go!

I have had so far, a total of two ballroom rehearsals for the alumni perfomance in May. The dance is so stinkin sweet!! It's kind of a hip hop-cha cha to a version of Poker Face by Lady Gaga. Very funky and, dare I say "fresh?" After the first rehearsal my poor quads were so terribly sore. Now my neck is sore. Go figure that one out! I haven't danced in so long that my neck is out of shape? That doesn't make much sense, eh? It's so much fun though. I need to find some sort of community ballroom class, just so I can keep dancing. It's definitely something I love and have a passion for. I don't ever expect to be a pro or "the best" but, if you love it, why not do it as often as you can?

20 days until spring! Keep your heads up!
